Just Mercy Book Read and Community Discussion

Hosted by the League of Women Voters of Hancock County in 2021


 


The Just Mercy Book distribution and community read officially kicked-off in March 2021 with the following opportunities:

  • Read the book and pass it on!

  • Finish survey to receive a movie admission, in-person or online

  • Attend movie showing at Rick's Theater on Thursday, May 6th

  • OR
  • Stream the movie online from home (April 30-May 1)

  • Join the conversation after!

Event Details:

The League of Women Voters of Hancock County announced the showing of Just Mercy for Thursday, May 6 at 6 pm at the Ricks Theater, Greenfield followed by a Community Forum at 8:30 pm. 

The community attended to view the movie and stayed for a serious discussion about racial justice. 

Planned Panelists were:

Brent Eaton - Hancock County Prosecutor
Michael Cunegin - Retired police officer, former Allen County Councilman, former Indiana Commissioner for the Social Status of African Americans, ordained minister
Patty Franklin - Associated with the Evangel Church, Greenfield
Erin Kelly - Spirit and Place Facilitator 
       
Admission:
$5.00 at the door or free admission with survey completion

Panel Start Time: 8:30 PM
Panel End Time: 9:45 PM
