Just Mercy Panelist Spotlight #1 - Brent Eaton
Brent Eaton has been the Hancock County Prosecutor since 2015. He is a graduate of Greenfield-Central High School, Wabash College, and Indiana University School of Law. He is actively engaged in the Hancock County Drug Court Program, the Hancock County Heroin Protocol Program and is the President of the Board of The Landing Place recovery program. He lives in Greenfield with his wife Susan, and their four children, 2 dogs, and cat.
As a Prosecutor, Brent has been recognized by Neighborhoods Against Substance Abuse, Mothers Against Drunk Driving, and local law enforcement for his leadership efforts. He has completed the National District Attorney Association Executive Leadership Course as well as training with the National Association of Drug Court Professionals. He served on the National District Attorneys Association Opioid Crisis Working Group.
In the courtroom Brent prosecuted Mathew Wagoner for the murder of one year old Zoey Wagoner in 2016. Mr. Wagoner is currently serving a 67.5 year sentence as a result of that conviction. Brent was a founding Board Member and Vice President of Zoey’s Place Child Advocacy Center in Hancock County.
