Just Mercy Panelist Spotlight #3 - Patty Franklin
Rev. Patty Franklin is an ordained minister associated with the Evangel Church in Greenfield Indiana, serving as an instructor and dean for their bible school (Evangel Bible Institute).
Rev. Patty received an Associate Degree from Purdue University, her BA from Butler University, and an MA from Destiny Christian University. After graduating from Butler, and until she was called to be a minister, Rev. Franklin established a partnership in interior design and space planning. The Franklin/Harris Interior Design was honored to participate in several decorator showhouses sponsored by the Eskenazi St. Margaret’s Hospital Guild with the purpose of raising money for breast cancer and women’s heath issues.
Rev. Franklin was asked by a pastor serving Charity Church located in inner-city Haughville area of Indianapolis to develop a day-care and pre-school for the church. The need was great, and the quick growth of the school led to the pastor asking Rev. Franklin to lead the school known as Manna-Fest Christian Academy for grades K-6th grades.
Rev. Franklin says that she is “Simply a black mother, a black grandmother, a black great grandmother” who knows the pain and fear within both her own African American community and division overall in our entire community and is inspired that so many are becoming aware of the need to reconcile and work together and feels called by God to be a witness in prayer and service.
